Cap production instead of (or besides) shifts

So what is the goal of setting a cap on your company?
To limit how much production you want to allow based on your company's resources and money.

Capping by player shifts is not really accurate, so why not be able to set a cap on production?
Say I want only 1000T1 bread made daily. I set cap to that.

In regards to the NPCs, maybe you want a company of yours to be open for players, some production you'd hand out to NPCs, so perhaps it's a good idea to be able to limit that too, what way would be the most efficient I'm not sure.
Maybe keep the ability to limit workshifts, and add an option to limit production?

Now how to present this in the gui is another question.
If we are lazy we could just shove it into the company settings, but I'd really love to see the new approach we talked about, even if we are not sure yet how the company manager we'd like to look.

So instead of simple setting in the menu, we could somehow integrate it into the graphics if you know what I mean.
Like buying the raws for the companies is so much easier for me since I know I can just click the raw and buy it, skipping the step of going to the market.

I'd like to see something with this too. I don't know what, maybe an icon in the right side of each tier, indicating a cap, you click it then a bubble comes in with animation, where you can set the cap, and it's frequency.
Say 1 want daily 1000, or weekly 500, or even hourly 5.
Depending on how you play or how much time you spend here, all could be handy.
No need to save or anything else, you set it, you click somewhere else, bubble goes out with an animation, maybe indicating that the new settings has been applied.

Or maybe with some other intuitive way, point is to make it clear and visible, as few clicks as possible, and of course without the need to reload the page at any point.
