Priorities of the game 17 0

What are the priorities of the game?

As it seems is the map. With the new map I would like to see new nations to be added, like Mexico, the missing 2-3 european countries and Northern Aftican countries.

The most imporant is to redistribute rm in a new random way, introducing some new (aluminium as manu rm) and maybe removing some (chocolate). This new distribution can be coupled with some research techs that are RM specific, as with Uranium. Regions also may differ as high rm that will have more rm and refresh rate would be higher. This randomness will add a lot of interest in the game imo. Ofc no grain in polar regions. After this a regions reset is needed that will ignite new wars.

Regions should also gain some terrain feature that will allow having some WM factors that benefit infantry, tanks, or aircrafts.

It is time to discuss openly about the naval module. Matter of fact no other game of its type has naval module afaik, so it is a good opportunity to gain the edge on this field! From my point of view it is essential to increase sea regions in order to have naval module. Otherwise might be oversimplistic and to be a problem instead of an advantage! I do not know what Xav has planned for these.

Another thing I would like to have info is the missiles and nuclear techs, it seems that we create "cool stuff" without knowing how to use them.

Closing this short article, I would like to propose once again to introduce space race, but only to moon, no further complication is needed imo. Space race can be something more than conquering lands on the space (moon, planets etc).

Booms It is a fact that your main allies are catholic countries (and the others were orthodox), ofc I know that many individuals might be atheists, but it is intruiging me that european alliances followed religious uniformity.
Do I have to be nazi in order to say that Hellas is orthodox and Croatia catholic?
As for nazism/fascism is discriminations according to such things and considering something like that (religion, nationality, race) superior, something that I do not even impose.

Metralla RM will almost certainly be reset, though I'm looking at a couple of other options I cant really discuss just yet. New RM distribution would be far more random than the current balanced system we have, so some regions will be "worth" more than others, some resources will be more scarce than others, etc etc. Variety is the spice of (v)life.

Darkmyre Let's suppose that comrades left because of this. On the other hand Catholics returned to the game till today and back then it was a an active country vs another active country. The one, CCCP, ragequit(If that was the reason), the other returned to the game.
Now we do not have such condition.
Srsly show me one that will quit with a REGIONS reset.

BTW how certain is it that RM will be redistributed? Cause it is a matter we should discuss a bit. I mean what would be the criteria, like how many rm per region, refresh rates, "depth of the pool".

"I do not see any correlation, nobody left because of regions reset afaik. Not sure If you refer on Soviets, that I am still not sure why they left"

Metralla If you look carefully at what you wrote, you answered your own questions ;)

Darkmyre Satisfy the demand for refund!

darki I do not see any correlation, nobody left because of regions reset afaik. Not sure If you refer on Soviets, that I am still not sure why they left. And wars/activity rised indeed.

James A. Conrad You should read Karlito, emeaux read him a lot, I mean srsly! He is a protestant that explains kapitalismus after all!

this is about reset, we are already watched this ''movie'' not one time, the difference is that now there are even less players.

z78sabjan But I luv your walls of text god dammit!
It is more professional, from an aspect, but from another reset is also professional. I mean that we made some colonies, with some criteria, If that criteria change then things should change in a way giving the same opportunities to all. For example a reset should also do something with infrastructure, especially those built abroad. You make roads infrastructure companies, in a region that now is important, a redistribution comes and it is crappy then, so you have to be in position to move all these or to be refunded.

No man :)) I mean you're right, i can get accused of that, but it's not the case. I was starting to explain myself then i realised it would take another wall-long comment, so not gonna do that. I can only say that it has nothing to do with my country's interests, in fact if a reset will come i won't mind at all. But if we can get around the problem without a reset, well let's just say i think it's more professional.

z78sabjan You can be easily accused that you do not want to lose colonies and start the new race from a landlocked country. So If that is true, it does matter a lot. If that is not true then it still does not explain why regions reset won't help wars, EVEN more.
If we have redistribution without reset, wars will be more selective, If we have reset, it will be a mess that will last longer.
I cannot not see how NOT reseting the regions would be better for wars or even the same.

i must agree with xav on this, if the resource redistribution is well done, then it doesn't matter because those countries will have to fight for them soon!

Regions reset will boost wars even more(faaaaaar more), now active countries hold that many regions that probably will have all the needed resources either way.

Give a bonus/motives to anyone that will provide the required terrain features for 10-20 regions. This terrain shit could include a size modifier ranking regions in tiny, small, medium, large, huge, or so that can affect RM, wars other costs.

I have a new idea on naval module but still the proper solution is proper sea regions.

Missiles and Nucs, I really worry about the balance, vehicles are already a bit more effective compared to infantry and infantry skill rises faster.

Space Race, in the beggining it can be just prestige and nationwide happiness things, then we can have espionage, space RM and alien weapons. Imo it is much more simpler than it seems a tech tree with some national projects, then moon colonies and then tripods and saucers.

On RMs: Totally agree that the current RM distribution is lacking. I'm trying to work out a way to redistribute RM more randomly and less evenly, as disparity leads to competition.

On region reset: Not gonna happen. If the RM redistribution is done right, nations should /want/ to acquire new territory for resources.

On terrain: Neat idea, till we get to the question of who will research and provide accurate terrain data for over 500 regions? :P

Naval module: Essentially on hold for now, till I can find a decent way to make it interesting without developing its own map.

Missiles and Nuclear stuff: Coming "Soon" :P

Space Race: Interesting concept, but theres far too much else that needs doing first.

I think that the top priority should be to finnish the new diplomacy module. The treties that are currently in place don't appear anywhere (they should appear in My Nation>Diplomacy and Government Office>Foreign Affairs), and we no longer have any kind of Free Trade agreements (I think that's an important part of diplomacy).

Unfinnished features are the most annoying part of the game.

Raw materials and especially minerals (iron, uranium etc.) could be processed in smelting plants (iron smelters, uranium centrifuges etc.) in a rate of 1:10 or 1:100 for strategic resources like uranium.

The priority is a good question, for this year I'd say we've planned an overhaul of the UI as the most important goal, although with the new map possibility I think that has to be the top one!

So first, -except some bug fixings- we should only care about the map until it's fully functional.

Then IF we have a region reset, prior to that we should prepare some changes, like the ones you mentioned. The goal is to redistribute RMs so they will fuel more competition between countries. Some very important things we should keep in mind, ie. don't stretch the gap further than needed between small and big countries.

So for now I'd ignore space race, and even the new techs, just until the above is done.

Now the real question is how to make changes to the region and raw material "rules", just to add one more possibility to yours for example raw materials could have grades. Different grades would mean different quantity needed for the same product. This would mean that some regions worth much more than others regarding of their resources.
